I have worked in education for over 7 years, I started as a Learning & Equalities Mentor where I used my passion for computing and my film production degree to help children, who would ordinarily struggle to access the wider curriculum, produce films and animations about a range of topics from Egyptians to natural disasters.
After completing my PGCE, I began teaching in Year 5 in a three-form entry teaching school in Newcastle upon Tyne. I currently lead on computing and run a CAS community of practice. I have delivered workshops for NQT's, student teachers and experienced teachers alike. Most recently I delivered a workshop at the #CASVirtual20 virtual conference.
I am incredibly passionate about how technology can be used to inspire the next generation and I believe that everything a teacher does should be rooted in the most relevant educational research. I have launched my own site www.pedabytes.com where I talk my experiences, tech, teaching and pedagogy. You can follow me on twitter @MRMICT.
