Since September 2019, CLA has been running a public test version of our new online product, the Education Platform. While we’re still hard at work on our design, we feel that it is something that you might find useful for your teaching.

As a customer support advisor, I am responsible for looking after our Education Platform helpdesk and administering parts of the Platform website.

Q: I am interested in signing up for an account on the Education Platform. How can I learn about it first?

We’re keen to give you the information you need so that you can make an informed choice when it comes to the Education Platform. With that in mind, CLA has made information available through several channels. We would like to offer you information in a way which suits you.

You can go to the Education Platform main website here: https://www.educationplatform.co.uk, you don’t have to register to see the information pages such as About and FAQs. As there’s no need to sign-in or register to view this publicly available material, please feel free to have a look.

Q: Will the Education Platform cost me or my school any money?

This is a very understandable question that we get quite a lot. I’m happy to confirm that you don’t have to pay anything to use the Education Platform.

CLA has made the Education Platform available for all schools which hold the CLA Education Licence, so you can consider it free of charge if your school has a licence (and it almost certainly does!).

Q: How can I get more support registering for an account?

Since we’ve started promoting the Platform, there has been a very positive response. Naturally, some of our users have had questions or needed a hand with something before they could complete their registration and get started. Please just contact us at support@educationplatform.zendesk.com, and we’ll be happy to help you get started.

Q: I would like to register to use the Education Platform, but I can’t see my school as an option when trying to create an account. What should I do?

One of the support requests that I have gotten used to helping with is instances where teachers can’t find their school when they go to register. If you have gone to www.educationplatform.co.uk/register and you can’t find your school, this might be for a couple of reasons. We can usually remedy this very easily. Cases might include:

  • Where we haven’t added your school yet
  • Where your school refers to itself by a name which is slightly different from the official records that we check
  • Where we need to change some settings so that you can be placed easily by your email address

As we are still in the process of rolling out the Education Platform to the whole UK, it’s possible that we need to add your school. We are hard at work adding new schools to the Education Platform, please just contact us at support@educationplatform.zendesk.com to request that we add your school. It’s normally a straightforward process, and you won’t need to know any details about your licence before getting in touch.

Q: I don’t have a webcam at school that I can use to unlock books. How can I start using the Education Platform?

We’re aware that the primary method of unlocking books, with a webcam, won’t always work or be appropriate for you. I have definitely received queries about this.

With this in mind, we have designed the Education Platform so that you can access the page from a personal device such as smartphone.
